Pescaturismo Burano

Experiences

Our member fishermen carry out fishing tourism activities in the lagoon, in the surroundings of the islands of Burano and Torcello, with the aim of illustrating the professional fishing activities they themselves practice, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the fishing culture and traditions of Burano.

Nettuno

Domenico, an expert fisherman of moleca crabs, will guide you aboard his boat through a traditional fishing practice of centuries-old origin, rooted as far back as the time of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, while also sharing the history and culture behind this skilled profession.

Sebastiano

Sebastiano, a versatile fisherman operating both at sea and in the lagoon, will accompany you aboard his traditional wooden boat to discover the different fishing activities carried out by the cooperative’s fishermen. He will also offer the opportunity to try fishing with cuttlefish traps (nasse) or trammel nets.

Perla della laguna

Andrea, a traditional lagoon fisherman, specialized in the use of trammel nets for fishing sea bass, sea bream, and mullet. In addition to the fishing experience, you will be immersed in the knowledge of the botanical richness typical of the barene and of the lagoon birdlife, with a visit to his birdwatching station in Torcello, including refreshments.

Rosa dei Venti

A fisherman from the Bognolo family will accompany you to discover the lagoon south of Venice aboard his family bragozzo, equipped with an onboard kitchen and toilet. Shoes are not worn on board. The maximum number of guests allowed on board is 12.

For lunch or dinner outings, boarding is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. or 6:00 p.m. from Fusina or San Basilio. During navigation, an aperitif will be served, accompanied by mixed cicchetti depending on the season. Once anchored in the calm waters near one of the abandoned islands of the lagoon, lunch will be served on board, including a starter, first course, and second course based on the fishing season; fine wines, soft drinks, water, coffee, and dessert are included. A hot shower and towels will be available for those who wish to take a swim. Swimsuit and sunscreen are recommended in season.
